Church Fenton

The prototype: Church Fenton was once a busy interchange junction station on the NER. It was rebuilt into its present form in 1903/4 as part of a large track improvement scheme to cope with the greatly increased volume of traffic that had developed.

The layout: The intention has been to run a wide variety of period train formations representing most of the LNER system in an attempt to recreate the 'atmosphere' of the heyday of the LNER. Heavy engineering works on the East Coast Main Line have diverted many extra and unusual trains through Church Fenton junction, thus adding to the already considerable traffic and creating a 'spotters paradise'!
